Aviators (the contents are the same as many Navy issue items). Kit is sealed
and includes one sea dye marker pack, one shark repellant pack, one distress
marker light, one whistle, and the packing sheet. The kits have pack dates
of 3/74 and the items are late 60's and early
70's dated. |

Coverall, Anti-G, Type Z2 (USN). This is a Navy issue full
G-suit. These suits were common in the 50's and up into the early 60's
before they went out of favor for the "cut-out" style lower body suits.
Coverall set is in VG+ / EXC- used condition and shows some signs of use. It
is a very hard to find size 42L. |

Coverall, Flying, Men's, Type CWU-1/P (USAF).
This is a heavy, insulated, cold weather flight suit as used by the US Air
Force. Suit is in excellent condition and is a size ML. Suit is contract
dated July 1958. |

Coverall, Flying, Man's, Cotton Twill, Sage Green,
K-2B. This suit is in VG+ used condition. It is free from damage,
but has some wear and fading on it. I has stitch marks from name tapes and a
smaller rectangle above the branch tape on the left chest. This leads me to
believe it had a US ARMY tape and likely an Aviator Qual badge sewn above it
based on the size and shape. Suit is a size MR and is dated 1969. |

Coverall, Flying, Man's, Very Light, K-2B (ARMY).
This suit is in excellent used condition. Nice even color and little wear.
Suit is a size MR and is Feb. 65 dated. Suit has Warrant Officer Rank as
well as KLEIN and US ARMY name tapes. Tapes are stamped, subdued. |

 Bag,
Helmet, Protective (USAF). This is an Air Force Flight Helmet Bag from
the Vietnam War. Bag is nylon and sage green in color with draw cord
closure. Inside is soft quilted nylon. Bag is in EXC used condition with a
name penned on the DSA tag. VN era helmet bags are hard to come by and the
older drawstring types are harder to find than the zippered bags. This item
is from the estate of Col. James A. Pratz, USAF. He was assigned to the
506th PIR (101st ABN) as a FAC in 1968 and also flew F-4 Phantoms. See other
items from his estate in his section below. |

USMC M-41 Haversack, VN. This is a very
nice, unissued M-41 Haversack complete with clear markings. Pack has 60's
DSA, OD Body, and lighter "transitional" straps. I apologize that the pics
are not great, it is raining here so they were taken in the warehouse. The
dark spot is a spot on the lens, not the pack! This would be a nice piece
for a collection. |

M-41 Haversack, WWII. Based on color, these are WWII vintage M-41
Haversacks. These are OD#3 (khaki) packs. They have a fair amount of use,
but are complete with all straps including the rear tail strap that goes to
the belt. |

M9A1
Gas Mask Set. This is a 1951 dated M9A1 gas mask with filter and
carry case. These masks also work very well as "fillers" in the D-Day
Assault Gas mask case as they are the same size and shape (just a different
color). Mask is in unissued condition and includes case. This item is from
the estate of Col. James A. Pratz, USAF. He was assigned to the 506th PIR
(101st ABN) as a FAC in 1968 and also flew F-4 Phantoms. |

Hallicrafters HT-1 "Village Radio."
These radios were issued one to a village during the war and used for
reports of Viet Cong movements to US groups like the CIA and Special Forces
units. You can find lots of photos of these in use with SF, CIDG, etc. This
radio is in unissued condition and is in the original foam packing box.
Normally when you find them, they are in rough shape, but this radio is NOS
in the box!Pics of radio in action:

1st Pattern Jungle Hammock. This is the first pattern jungle
hammock that was made up through 1965 when the M-65 Hammock specs came into
place. Hammock features side loops to be used as a stretcher, and a built in
mosquito net, but it does not have the provisions to use a built in rain
sheet. Hammock is in excellent original condition and includes all ropes,
etc. DSA 1965 dated. We have two available in like condition. |

Net. These nets are for use with cots. This
style of net was introduced by the Vietnam War, so even though these nets
are new (which is good. New means no holes!), they are the "correct style."
We do not have the four end poles to hold the net up, but they are out there
or you can tie the corners up. |

Stove, Gasoline Burner. This stove is in unissued condition and
still has the factory box (it was loose on the bottom, so I opened it the
rest of the way to be able to photograph the stove). Stove is 8/66 Dated.
These have gotten harder to find and an unissued on in the box is pretty
rare! This item is from the estate of Col. James A. Pratz, USAF. He was
assigned to the 506th PIR (101st ABN) as a FAC in 1968 and also flew F-4

Mitchell Pattern Trousers. These pants
are commercial manufacture by Kamo brand and were commonly worn early in the
war by advisors, SEALs, etc. Pants have two very large thigh pockets and are
reversible. Waist is a size 39" and the inseam is 29.5" (the seat is deep so
they sit a little lower). Pants are cotton twill like early helmet covers.
Overall VG+ to EXC- used condition. Dark spot is not a flaw, it is a spot in
the camera lens. |

ARVN ERDL Set. This is a set of ARVN
ERDL camo that I would assume was worn by a US Advisor. Set consists of
shirt, pants, and hat. Shirt has two chest pockets (lower pockets have been
removed to facilitate tucking the shirt in). Chest size is a 46" to 47".
Shirt features in-country made US ARMY tape and TABLER name tape. Pants are
a 39" waist with a 27" inseam (typical for Viet construction. They are ALL
short) and have a zip fly and two front patch pockets as well as two hip
pockets. Button tab waist adjusters. The hat is a beachball style boonie
with 6 panels, no foliage band, and a 2 1/4" brim. Overall condition on the
shirt and hat is EXC, the pants I would call VG+. Pants have good color and
match the shirt and hat well, but they have more wear on the lower legs than
the other pieces. This is fairly typical for pants to have more wear. Dark
spot is not a flaw, it is a spot in the camera lens. |

Modified ERDL Coat, Brown Dominant. This
is a brown dominant ERDL coat with a 1970 DSA tag. Size tag is missing, but
coat measures 22" across the chest, so it will comfortably fit up to a 42"
chest. Coat has been modified to short sleeve and has had pockets added to
the sleeves as well as two pockets added to the back. I got this years ago
in a collection of SEAL items, so I assume it could be a SEAL modified item.
Since we have no documentation, it is priced accordingly. Dark spot is not a
flaw, it is a spot in the camera lens. |

2nd Pattern Jungle Coat, 20th Engineer Brigade.
This coat is in excellent condition and shows little to no wear at all
(ignore the dark spot, it is a spot in the camera lense). Coat is a size SR,
but the insignia is outstanding. Subdued in-country name tape set (GAGNER /
US ARMY), really nice 20th Engineer twill patch and subd. twill SPEC-4
sleeve rank. This is a really nice coat with great insignia and would be an
excellent example for your collection. |

3rd Pattern Jungle Coat, 9th ID. This
coat is in VG used condition, but is missing its size tag in the neck. The
lower care tag is intact and the coat is DSA 68 dated. Coat measures 22"
across the chest laid flat, so it will comfortably fit a 42 chest. Coat
features 1st. Lt. Rank and Artillery BOS. Left shoulder has a nice,
in-country 9th ID twill patch. No damage, just some wear from use and
fading. Nice insignia and a nice example of a legit in-country coat. Dark
spot is not a flaw, it is a spot in the camera lens. |

3rd Model OG-107 Shirt, USMC #1. This
shirt is a size 15.5" x 35" sleeve. DSA 100-3723, so it is an early 3rd

3rd Model OG-107 Shirt, USMC #2. This
shirt is a size 15.5" x 35" sleeve. YSMC and EGA are more prominent than the

repair spot there. Can easily be replacced. Dark spot is not a flaw, it is a
spot in the camera lens. |

OG-107 Shirt, USAF. This shirt appears
to be a 3rd model but it has flat dish buttons. No size tags, but it
measures 20" across, so it should comfortably fit a 38" or 39" chest. Shirt
has been made into short sleeves and features name and US Air Force tape as
well as sleeve rank and an Air Defense Command pocket patch. I do not know
the exact date of manufacture since the tags are missing, but the Air
Defense Command was re-designated Aerospace Defense Command in January 1968,
so the shirt should pre-date that. Overall condition is VG used with some
wear and fading. It has one broken button and is missing a button. Though a
smaller size, this is good looking shirt that displays very well! Dark spot
is not a flaw, it is a spot in the camera lens. |

1st Model OG-107 Shirt, Engineer. This
shirt is missing its tags, but measures 21" across, so it should fit about a
40" chest. Shirt features a stamped name tape, woven subdued US ARMY tape,
subd. Major w/ Engineering BOS, and Master Parachute Qualification Badge.
Best part is a nice subdued twill 1st Field Force patch on the right
shoulder denoting a previous combat tour in Vietnam with 1st FF. This is a
great shirt with nice insignia, a desirable 1st model, and the name could be
researched. VG+ used condition with no flaws, just some light wear and wash
fading. Dark spot is not a flaw, it is a spot in the camera lens. |

looking SEABEES pocket patch. Dark spot is not a flaw, it is a spot in the

Graffiti Mitchell Pattern Helmet
Covers
We recently received a lot of about 500 helmet covers
(pictured on the What's New Page). In that lot, there were some covers with
graffiti that we decided to list separately. All of the covers listed below

Some of the covers have been hard to photograph, so I will describe them as
best I can. |

Pattern Helmet Covers, USMC / Training Marked. These are original helmet
covers that have had markings applied. I am not 100% sure on the V marked
helmets, but I have been told by several people that the 5th Marines often
marked covers in this way in Vietnam. The Triangle is a training marking and
I have been told they are primarily for OPFOR use. We have about a dozen V marked
and one triangle. |
