This is the USMC M-67 / M-1967 Combat Field Pack. In 1968 the Marines made M-41 Haversacks in Nylon in an attempt to "modernize" their load carrying capacity. They soon realized this was not enough and developed the M67 Combat Field Pack as a replacement Haversack / Rucksack. The Pack attaches to the upper clips on the USMC M-67 Suspenders. These suspenders are extremely rare, but the pack will also connect to a pair of Army M-67 Suspenders. This pack is 1970 dated and is in excellent, unissued condition. These have become much harder to find and would be a great addition to your collection.
