With Parachutist Helmet production stopped in early 1945, there was a need for M-1C Parachutist Helmets late in the war for the preparation for the Invasion of Japan and you the 11th ABN grabbed up as many helmet liner as they could. This is where many of the "rigger modified" helmet came from. There were also new, factory production Type II liners made between the end of WWII and the early 50's but the 11th ABN and the 82nd still had demand for Type II Parachutist Helmet liners. As a result, contracts were issued to convert existing stock to Type II liners. This helmet set is an example of a Type II Conversion fulfillment piece. The liner is a WWII Capac with steel rivets used for the A yokes and an early lightly marked web chincup. The helmet is factory repainted front seam with light texture vs heavier cork and the ABN chinstraps have green painted hardware. Josh Murray took a look at it and agreed it is a nice, solid example of a Type II Postwar contract fulfillment helmet and is likely a factory matching set with shell and liner. USGI Canvas Shower Bucket. We have two "shower buckets" available (DSA 69 / 70 dated). These are both in excellent used condition showing some dust from storage riding around on vehicles. They feature a canvas bucket with heavy strap to allow the bucket to be suspended. There is a galvanized shower head on the bottom of the bucket that can be twisted open and closed to allow the water to flow making a field shower. We have several 1968 / 69 dated 5qt canteen sets. The covers are DSA 1868 and the caps are all 1969 dated. These are all "the real deal;" USGI issue and have the correct YS marked caps that are dated as well. These shorts are great! From the estate of a retired Commander (O-5) who spent his career in the SEAL TEAMS, we have two pair of "custom" shorts. The shorts are made from 1980's OG-507 trousers (the Dura Press replacement for Cotton OG-107). The pants are marked 34 x 29 in the waist, but were tailored and measure 32 at the waist (16" laid flat) and the inseam is not a brisk 4" from the center seam of the crotch. We have two pair of VG used condition Ripstop, Green Dominant ERDL Trousers from the estate of Commander Nelson. Unlike the OD Green Jungles, the ERDL Trousers DO NOT have name tapes sewn on the rear pocket, likely left sterile for wear in the field.
