This is an original M1943 Field Cap (Technically they were just named Cap, Field, OD Cotton, with Visor). These hats came out in the latter part of WWII and would later be modified into the M-1951 Patrol Cap or Ranger Cap. Hat features the wool ear flap lining etc. Nomenclature tag is present and legible, but the size tag is too faded out to read. I wear a 7 3/8 and it fits, but is a shade snug, so I would call it a 7 1/8 or 7 3/8. The date is worn out as well, but they dropped the side vents in 1947 / 48 so this cap predates that. Perfect for late WWII, Korea or even Vietnam. Overall VG+ to EXC- used condition.
